Iveco partners with Lowndes’ TeamVortex

Iveco has announced a new partnership with Australian racing legend Craig Lowndes, as part of TeamVortex’s 2016 V8 Supercar campaign.

Already the official race transporter for Red Bull Racing Australia, Iveco has increased its involving in the exciting motorsport by becoming a naming sponsor of the new team, which is also part of the very successful Triple Eight Race Engineering stable.

Iveco Trucks Australia Marketing Manager, Darren Swenson, said the company was extremely pleased at being offered the opportunity to become part of the new racing outfit.

“Having worked closely with Red Bull Racing Australia last year as the official race transporter, the Iveco brand enjoyed a lot of exposure in an important demographic,” Mr Swenson said.

“While our two top-of-the-range Iveco Stralis AS-L prime movers will continue their duties as transporters, we were keen to further increase our relationship, hence the involvement with Craig and TeamVortex.

“Craig is not only a great driver but an outstanding role model and all-round ‘top bloke’ – in terms of representing the Iveco brand, you couldn’t ask for a better person.”

Mr Swenson said that the increasing popularity of V8 Supercar racing and the access it provided to motor racing audiences around the country both on-track and in the media, would be a winning formula for Iveco.

“Iveco is considered by many as the ‘drivers’ truck’ – they’re comfortable, quiet, easy-to-drive, and provide great fuel efficiency,” Mr Swenson said.

“Red Bull Racing professional truck driver Warick ‘Wazza’ Beames, experiences all these benefits for himself at the wheel of the blue Red Bull Stralis, we hope that seeing the trucks and the brand more broadly at race meets will entice prospective buyers to try our great range.”

Iveco Stralis AS-L models as used by Red Bull Racing Australia are assembled at Iveco’s Melbourne manufacturing facility using 55 per cent Australian-sourced components.
